Born on February 24th 1984 at 12.30pm in his hometown. At a very early age BRAHIM proved to be very creative. He loved drawing, dancing and singing. Age five he started playing the guitar ... a small plastic toy, a present from his aunt. At twelve his mom bought him a real guitar, cheap but enough to learn how to play. BRAHIM couldn’t read music and didn’t really believe in taking proper lessons ... A friend showed him some basics but he is basically self taught. He never stopped singing and practising. Along the way he picked up other instruments. Music and rhythm comes naturally to him...so he taught himself several percussion instruments. In the Flemish version of Idols 2003 BRAHIM was without a doubt the most striking candidate. His dancing skills and colourful hats were the talk of the town. Although BRAHIM finished fourth in the finals, the young man managed to sign a record-deal due to his enormous popularity and his great skills. His debut album ‘My Life Is Music’ (2003) – containing the hit singles ‘Turn The Music Up’, ‘I Wanna Be’ and 'Loco'- did very well in the charts. For his second album BRAHIM took the time to search the right people, suitable songs and his own sound. At the end of 2005 he released ‘Didi’, his first single since his debut album ‘My Life Is Music’. The cover version of this song, originally by Cheb Khaled (The King of Raï Music), went straight up the charts. The rest of Belgium soon followed, and the attention was also drawn in The Netherlands, Germany and Morocco. With the French S2L production team on his side, BRAHIM seemed to have grown as a complete musician. He also made it into the finals of the Belgian Eurosong contest with the instant hit single ‘P.O.W.E.R.’. Next to these three singles, BRAHIM kept on working on his second album. ‘NAJAHA’ shows a fully grown BRAHIM who did his own production and song writing with No Exp. The album contains 18 tracks and is signed 2 EMI Arabia 4 the release in 9 Arabic countries such as dubai, qatar, libanon, egypt, etc. ... Next to his professional career, BRAHIM is also working on a project for integration. He visits schools with a clear message of respect, tolerance and of course music, three things that are essential to BRAHIM.
