Massively influential emo-rock act Jimmy Eat World plans on reissuing their first two albums, 1996's Static Prevails and 1999's Clarity, on May 15, 2007. Each disc will include rare and unreleased bonus tracks handpicked by the band themselves. The reissues will coincide with the start of the band's nationwide tour next summer, as well as in anticipation of their upcoming fifth album.
The Clarity reissue will include "Christmas Card" from the band's split 7-inch with Blueprint and a demo version of "Sweetness"; the Static Prevails reissue will have "77 Satellites," "What Would I Say To You Now" (from the band's split 7-inch with Jejune) and the cover of the Wedding Present's "Spangle" tacked on. Many of these songs have already been made available through the band's singles collection, which came out in 2000 on Big Wheel Recreation but is presumably out of print.
Other tracks that will be included either via iTunes, Best Buy or through unlocking content on Jimmy Eat World's website are "Roller Queen," the demo version of "Your New Aesthetic" and "Softer" (all three taken from the band's 1999 EP Jimmy Eat World on Fueled By Ramen), as well as an alternate version of "Lucky Denver Mint."
